The Greek Flour Millers Association was founded in 1928 and has since played an important role in the development of the flour industry in the country and abroad.
Its members are the largest companies in the industry, which account for more than 75% of milling and are the main suppliers of the food industry.
The Greek Flour Millers Association is a member of the European Flour Millers Association.

Mission, Objectives and Priorities

Processing approximately 700 000 tons of cereals each year, the Association's members are the largest consumers of domestically produced wheat and rye in the food sector in Greece.
The Greek Flour Millers Association represents the voice of Greek flour millers both nationally and internationally.

The main objective of the Greek Flour Millers Association is to safeguard the rights of the Greek flour millers, to allow them to be competitive and innovative, while promoting their responsibility for the safety of food quality, nutrition and health.
These objectives are also supported by encouraging scientific research, product tracking and the dissemination of best practices among its members.

Another key priority of the Association is promoting food safety throughout the flour supply chain.

A key objective is to allow consumers and bakery-pastry professionals to distinguish and recognise the flour produced by members of the Association. Its ultimate goal is to raise public awareness for the products of the Association's members and to make their flour a top choice for consumers.

The expected benefits include support for the products of the Association's members and by extension for the Greek economy, ensuring the sustainability of Greek millers and job security for workers employed in this industry.
