In 2012, the Greek Flour Millers Association took the initiative of creating the logo “Greek Flour”, to provide a distinguishing mark for flour produced and packed in Greece by the member companies of the Association.

The logo aims to allow consumers and bakery-pastry professionals to distinguish and recognise Greek flour. Its ultimate goal is to raise public awareness on Greek products, leading to the preference of flour bearing this logo over those imported and to comply with quality standards and good manufacturing practices, aiming to consumer safety and compliance with the rules of competition.

The expected benefits include support for Greek products and by extension for the Greek economy, ensuring the sustainability of Greek millers and job security for workers employed in this industry.

The logo is provided following an inspection and certification by internationally accredited certification body TÜV HELLAS and is referred to as a “Private Protocol for the proper production of flour by Greek millers”.
